Our international cooperation initiatives

From its transborder location, the University of Lille places Europe and the international dimension at the heart of its policy and actions. Its ambition is to become the leading French university in north-western Europe. In 2024, the University of Lille counts numerous international partnerships and nearly 13% of international students and 10% of international staff from more than 150 different nationalities.

The European University of Brain and Technology, NeurotechEU and the cross-border -Interregional Internationalisation Initiative University Network (3i Network) are also essential levers for the scientific influence, intellectual and cultural enrichment and learning of students and all the teams at the University of Lille.

Today, the University's education and research activities stand out for their multi-disciplinary richness, the quality of their teaching recognised by the “Initiative of Excellence” label, and their ambitious internationalisation drive.

NeurotechEU: The European University of Brain and Technology

The University of Lille is a member of NeurotechEU, the alliance of European universities dedicated to brain sciences and emerging technology. This network promotes mobility, interdisciplinary training and collaborative research, offering students, researchers, academic and administrative staff privileged access to varied expertise and high-level academic resources.

Our international networks

As a founder of the 3i Network, an active stakeholder in the RFN, and a member of strategic alliances such as the SGroup, the Utrecht Network, the AUF, the EUA and the UFA, the University of Lille takes full advantage of these networks to support mobility, develop joint projects and strengthen synergies between education, research and innovation.

Our European and international projects

The University of Lille is involved in many projects supported by European, international and binational funds. It offers dedicated support to project leaders.

Hosting delegations

International delegation visits are open to academic and administrative staff from foreign higher education institutions, as well as representatives from governments, research institutes, and other organizations interested in engaging with the University.
