Ready to go ? I apply !

The director of studies, the international relations manager and the International Relations department of your degree program select students for international mobility, according to the number of places available for each destination.

Among the selection criteria specific to each program, the most common are:

  • academic results
  • language level required by the host institution
  • student motivation/projects
  • student maturity
  • previous exchanges

Regarding mobilities outside Europe, a central university committee is set up in February of each year, taking into account your degree program's ranking and the limited number of places available in each institution/program.

In any case, for both European and non-European study stays, the host university has the right to accept or decline the mobility request.

In order to prepare your international study mobility project in the best way possible, we strongly advise you to seek information at least one year in advance of your planned departure date. Deadlines and procedures for applying for an exchange program vary depending on the destination and your course of study.

To obtain all the information you need for your application, contact your International Relations manager and/or your degree program's International Relations department.

Throughout the academic year, events to promote mobility are organized by your department and in September on the various campuses of the University of Lille during the JIVE (student immersion days).

In order to apply :

  1. Login to the “Going abroad” application from the University of Lille's ENT.

  2. Fill in the “Stage 1: Request for international mobility” form, according to the application procedure and deadlines set by your degree program's international relations department.

If you have any questions about this stage, please contact your international relations manager and/or your degree program's international relations department.

While you're waiting for the results of the selection process, you can find out more about the eligibility criteria and conditions for international mobility grants.

Warning !
You can only apply for scholarships once your mobility application (step 1 of the “Going abroad” application) has been accepted by your International Relations manager and/or the International Relations department of your degree program.

  • For mobility within Europe, you will receive the decision from your international relations manager and/or your course's international relations department.

  • For mobility outside Europe, you will receive the decision by e-mail, following a commission from the University of Lille's International Mobility Department, which you will have to confirm.
Depending on the partner university, you may be asked to compile an additional file, which will be sent to the host university.

In any case, once your application has been accepted by the host university, the latter will send you confirmation of your mobility as well as information about your stay (registration process at the host university, accommodation, insurance, reception, visa assistance if necessary, etc.).

Warning !
To avoid unpleasant surprises, we advise you to wait for the acceptance letter from the host establishment before making any financial commitments (booking transport, paying accommodation deposit, taking out insurance…).

Going abroad as part of your course at the University of Lille? Follow the guide!

Warning ! We would like to remind you that it is forbidden to travel to a country classified as a red or orange zone (countries at risk, for example: terrorist risk, climatic risk, countries at war). Check the color of your destination zone on the regional maps of zones of vigilance published by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. You'll find the maps by geographical zone below the “Latest Minutes” and “Alerts” sections.

It's also up to you to :

  • check the conditions for entering and leaving the country (whether or not borders are closed)
  • find out about compulsory insurance clauses before taking up international mobility. We strongly advise you to take out repatriation insurance.
  • regularly consult the “Latest news” section of the country fact sheet for your host country on the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs website.
