Located at the heart of Northern Europe, the University of Lille is pursuing an ambitious international strategy aligned with its overall mission. European and international openness is seen as a key driver for advancing education, research, innovation, and societal transformation.
Supported by an extensive network of international partnerships, the University reaffirms its commitment to cooperation at all levels.
The institutional networks in which the University of Lille participates play a central role in structuring and enriching this international strategy. Far more than platforms for representation, they are active spaces for collaboration that allow the university to:
- Co-develop European research, innovation and education projects with leading international partners;
- Engage in thematic working groups (task forces, think tanks, etc.) on strategic issues such as pedagogical innovation, sustainability, inclusion, and researcher support;
- Identify and initiate new opportunities for cooperation, including through internal calls for proposals or idea incubators;
- Promote inbound and outbound mobility — academic and administrative — through targeted and flexible mechanisms;
- Share best practices in international policy and institutional development;
- Strengthen the university’s visibility and influence at the European and global levels.
These networks — interregional, European and international — include the 3i University Network (Initiative for Interregional Internationalisation), SGroup – Universities in Europe, the Utrecht Network, the Franco-Dutch Network (RFN), the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), the European University Association (EUA), and the Franco-German University (FGU/UFA).
By actively engaging in these networks, the University of Lille reaffirms its role as a key player in international cooperation and continues to respond to major societal challenges in an increasingly interconnected world.
