NeurotechEU: the European University of Brain and Technology is launching the first experimental pilot cohort of its shared doctoral programme

Objectives

To offer doctoral students additional, international and interdisciplinary support in the research, writing and scientific and societal impact of their thesis projects:

  • promoting the development of cross-disciplinary skills;
  • promoting European scientific collaborations and international mobility;
  • promoting international career integration.

This programme is aimed at PhD students enrolled in their first year of doctoral study at the University of Lille in 2026, whose research focuses on the brain and neurotechnologies in the broadest sense, adopting a resolutely interdisciplinary approach.

All disciplines are eligible provided that the research project falls within one of the Alliance’s eight scientific dimensions:

Programme

This first pilot cohort, limited to five PhD students per partner university, will offer a European doctoral environment of excellence: a hybrid launch event at the start of the 2026 academic year, training and research support webinars, international scientific collaborations, Erasmus+ mobility opportunities, as well as participation in the NeurotechEU General Assembly in Romania in May 2027.

Travel expenses related to programme activities will be covered by NeurotechEU.

The training programme (currently in progress) is available here.
