You want to finance your studies at the University of Lille? 

There are several types of scholarships available.

 

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers Eiffel Excellence Scholarships every year.

This scheme is intended for international students. It allows you to finance either studies at the Master’s level (1st or 2nd year), or a mobility of up to 36 months within the framework of a co-guardianship or a co-direction of thesis (for an entry into the 1st year of doctorate).

Required Level of French

What level of French should you have when applying and entering university?
Everything depends on the courses you are going to take, but for courses in French, you must justify a B2 level.

To process your application for the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship, you must:

  • Contact as soon as possible the person in charge of the program of study at the University of Lille, the international relations department of the faculty you are interested in or the doctoral schools
  • Be pre-admitted to the University of Lille in the program of study/faculty you wish to join. We invite you to consult the catalogue of the different programs of studies
  • The submission of an application for the Eiffel scholarship is subject to the assessment of the master’s or doctoral supervisor. If the candidate is considered to be a good candidate, he or she must write a recommendation. However, if the manager believes that you do not have the prerequisites to enter the training (depending on the documents you have provided), the procedure stops and you will not be able to apply.
  • Please contact the person in charge of the master’s or doctoral degree for which you wish to apply by sending him an e-mail with all the documents requested. If the teacher responsible for the master’s or PhD decides to pre-admit you in the desired training and support your application for the EIFFEL scholarship, a selection will be made on the basis of excellence of the projects, You will then be informed of the outcome of your application.
  • If it is positive, you will then have to complete a detailed file related to your CV and training project. For further information, please visit the Campus France page dedicated to the Eiffel programme 

Application process: 

  1. Contact the service international relation at your faculty as soon as possible mid-September
     
  2. Training components must forward applications to the International Mobility Directorate for the UPCOMING CALENDAR
     
  3. Internal committee of selection: End of November
     
  4. Preparation of the application files selected by the committee on December
     
  5. Sending of the finalized files to Campus France for studying and a final selection beginning of January
     
  6. Announcing the results by Campus France early April

Documents to be included in the application

The CURRICULUM VITAE, written in French or English (1 to 2 pages).
This will have to specify:

  • Name and surname, title, all nationalities, date of birth, place of birth, country of birth, permanent address (if you currently reside in France, your permanent address in your home country is also required), a single reliable e-mail address that will be used throughout the file examination process;
     
  • Completed or ongoing graduate studies (starting with the most recent): Name of institution, name of degree(s) obtained with indication of specialty, Start and end dates of your studies, grades - grade, rank (promotion rank/size);
     
  • Work experience (name of employer, line of business, position occupied, period of occupation);  
     
  • Level of language proficiency in French and English, if possible according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, your language diploma (year of graduation, level, score);

The PROFESSIONAL PROJECT, written in French or otherwise in English (1 to 2 pages).
The personal project must be written in a form that explains the choice of studies in France compared to previous studies and future professional career. This presentation may be supported by an opinion of persons outside the institution, for example belonging to a company.

TRANSCRIPTS of the last three years referring to an academic career both in France and abroad.

PHOTOCOPY OF PASSPORT (identity page) or IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENT.

In the case of a DUAL DIPLOMA (double degree), the institution must attach the agreement and specify the procedure to be implemented if it does not appear in this agreement between institutions.

CERTIFICATE OR DIPLOMA OF LANGUAGE (if applicable).

The MOCK-UP of the intended course and its complete SCHEDULE.

Attention, all attachments must be provided in a single document in PDF format.

The CURRICULUM VITAE, written in French or English (1 to 2 pages). It must specify:

  • First and last name, civility, all nationalities, date of birth, place of birth, country of birth, permanent address (if you currently reside in France, you must also have your permanent address in your country of origin), a single reliable email address that will be used throughout the entire case instruction process;
  • Higher education completed or in progress (start with the most recent): Name of institution, name of diploma(s) obtained with indication of specialty, start and end dates of your studies, grades - mention, ranking (rank/promotion size);
  • Professional experience (name of the employer, sector of activity, function held, period of employment);
  • Level of linguistic competence in the French language and the English language, if possible according to the common European framework of reference for languages, your language diploma (year obtained, level, score);
  • The PROFESSIONAL PROJECT, written in French or failing that in English (1 to 2 pages). The personal project must be written in a form that explains the choice of studies in France compared to previous studies and the future professional career. This presentation may possibly be supported by an opinion from people outside the establishment, belonging for example to a company.

A presentation of the THESIS PROJECT and research progress, written in French or English (1 to 5 pages). If possible, justify at least one communication in a conference (cite the references, attach an excerpt)

The global FUNDING PLAN of the thesis

The CO-SUPERVISION AGREEMENT or a COTUTELLE CERTIFICATE signed by the French and foreign parties (in case of co-direction, attach a letter co-signed by both directors).

The PHOTOCOPY of the PASSPORT (identity page) or IDENTITY DOCUMENT.

The LANGUAGE CERTIFICATE OR DIPLOMA (if applicable).
