Course catalog

As an exchange student, you'll have to sign a Learning Agreement between your home university and the University of Lille. The Learning Agreement defines the courses you will take during your exchange.

Consult the Université de Lille's range of courses to prepare your Learning Agreement:

How can I apply to the University of Lille?

Step 1: Apply to your home university. Your university must select you and send us a nomination e-mail. You can check whether there is a inter-institutional agreement between your home university and the University of Lille by consulting the map of agreements.

Step 2: You will receive the complete application procedure by email from the international relations department of your future host department.
You'll need to fill in our online application form, upload the required supporting documents and send the complete file to the e-mail address specified for your field of study.
If your application to the University of Lille is accepted, you will receive confirmation of acceptance by email.

Application deadlines

  • May 10th for year-round or autumn semester stays
  • November 1st for spring semester stays

Warning !
If you are a student from outside the European Union (with the exception of Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein), you need to apply for a visa from the French consular services in your country. A visa is required for all stays of more than 3 months. Without a visa, you will not be able to enroll at the University of Lille.

Language level

If you are selected for an exchange program, you must have a sufficient level of French or English.

You must be able to prove a B2 level according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in the language of instruction of your chosen courses at the University of Lille. You'll need to upload a document proving your level (official certification, attestation from a teacher at your home university or the OLS test for Erasmus+ students) to your application form.

When you arrive at the Université of Lille, you can improve your level of French by taking the intensive and/or extensive French courses offered by the Université of Lille.

Transcript of records

At the end of your mobility, the international relations department of your host department will send your transcript of grades and the number of ECTS credits obtained to your home university.
French universities use a 20-point grading system. A minimum of 10/20 is required to pass an exam.
