How to get to Lille

Wherever you come from, getting to Lille is quite easy thanks to its wide web of public transport.

Trains run from Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport to Lille Flandres or Lille Europe stations every hour. Timetables and bookings on the SNCF website.

You are not advised to travel via Paris-Beauvais airport. There is no direct link to Lille, so the journey can take a very long time.

  • Option 1 : Take the Orly Val (timetables and bookings on OrlyVal website) to Antony station (€8) and then the RER B in the direction of Saint Rémy les Chevreuses / Massy, disembark at Gare du Nord. From there, you can take the train to Lille. Timetables and bookings on the SNCF website.
  • Option 2 : Take the Air France bus Line 1 (timetables and bookings on "Le Bus Direct" website) and disembark at Montparnasse Station. A one-way ticket costs €11.50. Then, take line 4 of the Metro at Montparnasse-Bienvenue in the direction of Porte de Clignancourt and change at Saint Michel. In Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame station, take the RER B in the direction of Charles de Gaulles airport and disembark at Gare du Nord.
    From there, you can take the train to Lille. Timetables and bookings on the SNCF website.

  • Option 3 : Walk to Pont de Rungis / Aéroport d'Orly station and take the RER C in the direction of Argenteuil / Montigny-Beauchamps and disembark at Saint Michel Notre Dame.Take the RER B in the direction of Charles de Gaulles airport and disembark at Gare du Nord.
    From there, you can take the train to Lille. Timetables and bookings on the SNCF website.

A shuttle bus travels between Lille-Lesquin airport (gate A) and Lille city centre. The journey takes around 20 minutes and a one-way ticket costs 8€. You can only buy the tickets from the bus driver. You can have a look at the timetables on Lille-Lesquin airport website.

A regular train service runs between Brussels Zaventem airport and Bruxelles Midi station. Timetables and bookings on the SNCB website.

Direct trains (TGV or Eurostar) are then available from Bruxelles Midi to Lille. Bookings ont the SNCB website and on the SNCF website.

Some coaches travel from Paris (about 3h) or Brussels (about 1h30) to Lille. The prices are very cheap and a one-way ticket can cost from 1€ to 15€ depending on the period. Timetables and bookings on Ouibus website and Flixbus website.

  • From Paris: Take motorway A1 in the direction of Lille or Villeneuve d'Ascq.
  • From Belgium: Take motorway A14 or A27 in the direction of Kortrijk - Rijsel (Lille).

  • Campus Cité Scientifique : take the metro line 1 in the direction of 4 Cantons and exit at Cité Scientifique or 4 Cantons.
  • Campus Moulins : take the metro line 2 and exit at Porte de Douai.
