DELF DALF
DELF and DALF are official diplomas issued by France’s Ministry of education to certify the French-language skills of foreign candidates and French citizens originally from non-Francophone countries who do not hold a public secondary or higher education diploma issued in France.
There are 4 independent DELF diplomas and 2 DALF diplomas, corresponding to the six levels of the Common European framework of reference for languages. Diplomas obtained are valid for life.
DELF : diplôme d’études en langue française
The DELF is available to two target audiences: general public and junior candidates (aged 11 to 18).
These two diplomas have an identical structure but differ in the themes covered, matching the interests of adults or younger candidates.
Here the focus is on early learning: you will be able to talk about yourself and your immediate environment.
You will be able to communicate for the simple tasks of everyday life and have a grasp of conversational structures.
At this level you become autonomous and can understand and engage in a discussion, share your opinion and express your views.
You will be able to argue to defend your opinion, develop your point of view and negotiate.
DALF : diplôme approfondi de langue française
The DALF is made up of two independent diplomas, which correspond to the two levels of the Common European framework of reference for languages.
You will be able to communicate with ease and spontaneity, with a broad vocabulary, and choose appropriate expressions to introduce what you have to say.
You now master the language with accuracy, using appropriate language with great ease. You can carry out academic work or highly advanced tasks.
