Accommodation in Lille
University residence - CROUS
The Department of international mobility makes rooms available in CROUS university residences. These are exclusively for international students on exchange programmes. You can apply for a room using the online form and are not required to issue a request with the CROUS.
Rooms in university residences are (in some cases but not always) smaller and less comfortable than a studio apartment. However, they come with certain financial advantages: they are inexpensive, exempt from housing tax and in most cases from additional charges for electricity, gas or other services, so there is no need to open an account with suppliers.
Note: the capacity of university residences is extremely limited, so not all requests can be granted.
More info about residences:
Overseas students not on an exchange programme (“freemovers”) must issue an individual accommodation request directly with the CROUS international service.
Note: the chances of being accepted are very low, and applicants are advised to provide for an alternative solution.
Admission requests must be made on the website www.crous-lille.fr. Go to the “Etudiants” section, followed by "Etudiants étrangers" and lastly "Demande de logement" (application to be completed online and then printed).

Studapart - University of Lille
Studapart is now the online accommodation service used by more than 150 of the most prestigious schools and universities in France. This platform is directly linked to the University of Lille and offers various options to help students find accommodation.
Make the most of this service specifically dedicated to students, which will help you find a place to live in the metropolitan area!
Studapart will serve as your guarantor for payment of your rent if required!
To find accommodation in France, applicants are usually required to have a guarantor with residency in France. For this reason, the University of Lille works in partnership with this platform to:
- secure access to accommodation without a French guarantor
- reserve your accommodation with just two administrative documents: ID and a letter of admission
- book your accommodation online
A multilingual support team (French, English, Spanish, Italian and Mandarin) is available 6 days a week to help you find accommodation. Feel free to contact them at +33 (0)1 80 92 64 01 or via bookingstudapartcom
How to log in
- Students with access to ENT: register on the platform housing.univ-lille.fr by clicking on “Tenant space” followed by “Sign me up with Intranet”
- Registered students/applicants who do not yet have access to their university email: to log in you will need a password. To receive one, please send an email to the following address: exchange-helpdeskuniv-lillefr
- Contact student support team: +33 (0)1 80 92 64 01 or bookingstudapartcom
This platform puts incoming students in contact with students leaving on mobility programmes who are willing to sublet their accommodation for the duration of their stay in Lille.
Some landlords also make available selected properties. A win-win situation! Outgoing students can take back their accommodation when they return, and incoming students can enjoy the kind of accommodation they want for the duration of the mobility programme. The University is in direct contact with HousingAnywhere, which means that our students can enjoy privileged access to the available offers, that their listings are prioritised and any specific requests will be answered.
Furthermore, if upon their arrival the accommodation option does not exactly correspond to the listing on the website, no rent needs to be paid and the student is immediately redirected to another property.
