The application procedure to follow depends on several factors :

  • your nationality
  • the country in which you obtained your baccalaureate or other secondary-level diploma
  • your country of residence

NB: Except in cases of exemption, you must have a certificate in French. (minimum level B2). Please note: some courses require a higher level of French.

How do I apply for my course of study?

Foreign national candidates (outside the European Union) registering for the first time at a French higher education institute

  • Initial admission request (DAP)  

2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR - Registration on the first year of a bachelor's course

This mandatory procedure is for students who are foreign nationals from outside the EU, the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation and wish to register for the first time on the first year of a bachelor's course.

There are two prerequisites:

  • Proof that you have access to higher education in your home country for the desired course
  • Proof that you have an adequate understanding of the French language for the desired course: this is measured using a language test known as TCF-DAP

All bachelor's courses (1st year)

Note: The Science & Techniques of Sport (STAPS) programme is not open for the DAP procedure for the 2020-2021 academic year.

  • Students living abroad complete a "DOSSIER BLANC" which is either available at the cultural department of the French Embassy in their country of residence, or in countries to which the "studies in France" procedure applies, via the Campus France website, which has dedicated sections for each country: http://www.campusfrance.org.
