Pre-selection criteria

The course heads, international relations representatives from the faculty/school/institute and the International Relations department together select students for all study trips abroad based on the number of available places at each destination.
The following are the most widely used selection criteria for each faculty:

- university results
- proficiency in the language of study or work required by the host institute
- the student’s motivation/project
- the student’s level of maturity
- any previous periods of mobility completed

For mobility schemes outside Europe, the Central University committee convenes each year in February to take into account the rankings drawn up by the faculties/schools/institutes and the limited number of places available for each establishment/programme.
Whatever the circumstances, for study trips both in and outside Europe, the host university reserves the right to accept or reject mobility requests.

Get the information you need and prepare your application

To prepare your study trip abroad in optimal conditions, you are strongly advised to start looking for information at least one year ahead of your planned departure date.

Throughout the academic year, events are organised to promote mobility schemes on the various campuses of the University of Lille, including:

- in September as part of the JIVE (student life immersion days)
- and in November as part of International Student Week

The deadlines and application procedures for study trips as part of an exchange programme vary depending on the destination and your faculty/school/institute. Mobility candidates notified

For mobility schemes outside Europe, you will be informed of the decision by email following the meeting of the University of Lille International Relations committee. You will be required to confirm that you wish to proceed. Depending on the partner university, you may be asked to complete an additional dossier which will be sent to the host institute.

Whatever the circumstances, once the host institute has agreed, it will send confirmation of your participation directly to you along with other information relating to your trip abroad (registration procedures at the host institute, accommodation, insurance, arrival, assistance obtaining a visa if necessary, etc.).
